Although we hope and trust that the work you will be doing via Counterpart is extremely useful, the organisations that you will be working for are not able to pay your expenses. You will have to pay for your own plane ticket, insurance, vaccinations, accommodation and other costs.

What is included in the one-time fee?

• We will find you a high quality volunteer position that matches your abilities, interests and experience.
• We will help you prepare for your trip to Uganda, with practical information. Of course you can also contact us with any other questions regarding the preparation of your trip.
• If you wish, we will find you accommodation in Uganda (see below).
• Upon arrival in Uganda, if you wish we will give you a tour around Kampala and introduce you to the organisation you will work for (see below).
• While in Uganda, a representative of Counterpart Travels will be available to you for practical support. This includes repositioning (free of charge) if you are unhappy with your placement or accommodation.

Airport pick-up and introduction to Kampala
You can choose to be picked up from the airport by us. To acclimatize in Uganda, we offer to pick you up from the airport, after which you stay in a guesthouse in Kampala for two days. During these two days, you will be shown around Kampala to introduce you to the most important places. For the two nights, breakfast, tour around Kampala and the transport from the airport we charge ~45 euros (local equivalent), payable upon arrival in Uganda. For this 'introduction package' we work together with a local aid organisation, and your 45 euro fee is donated completely to them. After the first two nights, we pick you up and introduce you to the organisation you will be working for.
